Lane Adams, Kansas City Royals MiLB, @LAdamsKC on Twitter
Okay ladies, are you ready for this one? If your type happens to be funny, good-looking, and athletic, then look no further. This two-sport athlete has been turning heads – from both the scouts and the ladies – for years. While his initial goal was to take his basketball career further, Lane Adams of the Kane County Cougars was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 2009 MLB June Amateur Draft.
When looking at his stats, his speed on the base paths is quite evident. In his three seasons in the minor leagues, Adams has stolen 38 bases and has only been caught five times. Who doesn’t love a speedy ballplayer? In 160 career games, he has scored 107 runs! He’s had injuries affect him in the past, but has never let them slow him down.
The 22 year old outfielder is a beautiful 6’2” and weighs 198 pounds. We’re VERY excited to give you:
20 QUESTIONS WITH LANE ADAMS
(1.) When did you realize that you wanted to play baseball for a living? I actually grew up playing basketball and was really focused on going to college and playing basketball and hopefully making a career out of it. So I guess I didn’t really decide I wanted to pro baseball until I was drafted.
(2.) If you weren’t playing baseball, what would you be doing? Definitely be going to school and playing hoops at Missouri State.
(3.) If you could only watch one movie for the rest of your life, what would it be? Happy Gilmore. Everybody in the clubhouse quotes it for every day of the season, every season.
(4.) What was your favorite TV show growing up? As a kid, it was Hey Arnold. Now I watch Family Guy, Two and a Half Men (with Charlie Sheen), and I watch Seinfeld religiously.
(5.) What is one skill that you wish you had? I wish I could read people’s minds. That would be fun.
(6.) Are you single, dating, or married? Currently single. I’m really picky with who I get into a relationship with.
(7.) What is your idea of the perfect date? Strip Golf. Obviously not on the 1st date but that would be fun. (Can we play?)
(8.) What is your go-to snack? My go to snack is definitely a chocolate flavored Muscle Milk protein shake. I drink one in the shower every night. (Mmmm)
(9.) How would you describe yourself in three words? Sarcastic, chill (chilliest guy you’ll ever meet, no exaggeration), competitive.
(10.) How would your teammates describe you in three words? Sarcastic, Funny, Athletic (they would never say that but I know they think that).
(11.) I can’t help but notice how hilarious you and Jason Adam are on Twitter. When and how did that friendship begin? I met Jason in 2010 at instructional league. We were one of the few people spending the offseason in Arizona and we were the youngest, so we spent a lot of time together. One of the healthiest bromances you could ever come across. (I think we’re going to need to get Jason on here!)
(12.) Give us an example of your bucket list. What do you absolutely want to do before you die? Haven’t really thought about it. Deep sea diving would be pretty fun. But I’ve seen my fair share of Jaws movies as a kid, so I’d be a little hesitant.
(13.) Who was your favorite baseball team and player growing up? I was a White Sox fan growing up as kid. My whole room was Chi Sox. Favorite player was Robin Ventura. (OkSt) (I guess I can forgive you for this. Go Tigers! ;))
(14.) What is your favorite thing to do in the offseason? I like playing golf with my brother even though I’m awful, but I dress like I’m in the Tour. I also enjoy playing basketball. But what I really enjoy is training and being with my family and getting to see my nieces. (A family man, awww!)
(15.) What is the one thing that you have to bring with you on a road trip? Fully charged iPad and fully charged iPhone. Also my headphones.
(16.) What are five things within your reach right now? Headphones, iPad, protein shake, bottle of water and remote.
(17.) Describe your most embarrassing moment. I went to dunk in warmups in high school and the girls from the game before spilled their water bottle around our goal and I ate it in front of EVERYBODY.
(18.) I imagine being with a group of guys during the course of a season can get pretty rowdy. What kind of pranks have you seen or been a part of? Set all my roommates clocks up 4 hours (watch, phone, etc) and walked outside of the condo and called him asking why he wasn’t at the field. It was our rookie year so he freaked out. Me and a few guys used to drive through the parking lot of Wal-Mart and Target and spray people with water guns. That was always fun.
(19.) Who would you feature as Sports Babe of the Day? Brett Eibner. The guy is the definition of a pretty boy off the field, but he gets down on the field.
(20.) What do you want to be remembered for? For being a great son, brother, friend, uncle, husband (someday ladies), father (see husband), teammate and player.
